Refyn started in classrooms — not boardrooms. As students, we watched classmates copy entire essays from AI in seconds and teachers struggle to tell what was real. The reaction was always the same: ban it.

But bans don't work. Tools live on every device. Filters fall to a single VPN. The problem isn't AI; it's how AI is being used.

We built APIE to fix the use, not punish the user. By detecting intent and reframing prompts into learning pathways, schools can adopt AI without giving up on integrity — and students can use AI without giving up on actually learning.

That's the trust layer education has been missing. It's what we're here to build.
